GOTS Certified Cotton Shell

Why Organic Matters

Because you spend a third of your life in bed.

Organic isn't just a buzzword for us. It's about what's touching your skin for 8+ hours every night of your life.

Conventional cotton is one of the most pesticide-heavy crops on the planet. Those chemicals don't just disappear after harvest. They end up in the fibers, in your bedroom, against your skin while you sleep.

Certified organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. It's cleaner, safer, and better for your body. No off-gassing, no chemical residue, no compromises.

Organic cotton is naturally softer and more durable. The fibers aren't weakened by harsh chemical processing, so they last longer and actually get better over time. It's why our comforter gets fluffier with every wash instead of breaking down.

Your bedroom should be your healthiest space. Organic Favorite makes that possible.

FAQ

Is the FILL 100% cotton too, or just the shell?

A: The shell is 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. The fill is premium hypoallergenic synthetic down - not polyester, not plastic, not recycled bottles. We use synthetic down specifically because cotton fill has major drawbacks: it's extremely heavy, absorbs moisture/sweat, and clumps when washed. Our synthetic down gives you cloud-like loft and weight that stays fluffy wash after wash. The best of both worlds: organic cotton against your skin, premium fill for comfort.

Why isn't the fill organic cotton too? I wanted 100% organic.

A: We wanted that too - trust us. Here's the problem: cotton absorbs water. A lot of water. Our King comforter weighs about 9 lbs dry. Fill it with organic cotton and throw it in the wash? It would soak up so much water it could weigh 250-300 lbs. That's not an exaggeration - it would literally break a washing machine. This is why you won't find any King-size comforters on the market with organic cotton fill. You'll find quilts (we sell those too), but quilts have much less fill. For a full comforter, synthetic down is the only practical option that lets you actually wash it at home. We chose the highest quality hypoallergenic synthetic down - no plastic bottles, no cheap polyester - so you get the comfort without the maintenance nightmare.

What if I have more questions?

A: Email us at hello@organicfavorite.com. Real humans answer, usually within 24 hours. We're a small team that actually cares about helping you sleep better.

What's your return policy?

A: 100-night trial. That's over 3 months to sleep on it. If you don't love it, email us and we'll arrange a free pickup and full refund. No questions, no hassle, no fine print buried in the product description. Most brands give you 7-30 days. We give you 100 nights because we know that once you sleep on it, you won't want to give it back.

How long will it last?

A: With proper care, 10+ years easily. Organic cotton fibers are naturally stronger because they're not weakened by harsh chemical processing. Unlike cheap comforters that pill, flatten, and clump after a year, ours maintains its loft and actually improves with washing. This isn't a comforter you replace every couple years - it's a one-time investment in better sleep.

I have a Queen bed. Should I get King anyway?

A: If you want that overstuffed, luxury hotel "cloud bed" look - yes. The King fits inside a Queen duvet cover and gives extra loft and that draped-over-the-edges effect. It's how our co-founder Lauren uses hers. If you want maximum fluffiness, size up.

Is it heavy? I read cotton-filled quilts are really heavy.

A: This is a common concern because traditional cotton-filled quilts can be extremely heavy (some people say "hurts your feet" heavy). That's exactly why we use synthetic down fill instead of cotton fill. You get comfortable, cozy weight without the heaviness. It's substantial enough to feel luxurious but light enough to not feel like you're pinned down.

What sizes do you have?

A: Currently King (90" x 104"). Queen and Twin sizes coming soon - sign up for our email list to be notified first.

What does GOTS certified actually mean?

A: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the gold standard - way beyond OEKO-TEX. OEKO-TEX tests the final product for harmful chemicals. GOTS certifies the entire supply chain: the farm where cotton is grown (no pesticides), the facility where it's processed (no toxic dyes), and the factory where it's sewn (fair labor). Most "organic" bedding only has OEKO-TEX. We have both certifications because we believe in the whole process, not just the end product.

I've returned 3 comforters already. Why should I trust this one?

A: We get it. Amazon is full of "100% cotton" listings that bury "polyester fill" in the fine print. That's why we're different: we tell you exactly what you're getting, no surprises. Plus, you get 100 nights to test it. If it's not what we promised, email us for a free return and full refund. Most brands give 7-30 days. We give you over 3 months because we're that confident you'll keep it.

Why does organic cotton matter? Is it really that different?

A: Conventional cotton is one of the most pesticide-heavy crops on earth. Unlike food, there's no rule to stop spraying pesticides right before harvest. Those chemicals don't disappear - they end up in the fabric against your skin for 8 hours every night while you sleep. Formaldehyde is commonly used to process conventional cotton. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and processed without harsh chemicals. No residue, no off-gassing. You spend a third of your life in bed - what touches your skin matters.

I saw that competitors use recycled plastic bottles. Is your fill plastic too?

A: No. Some brands market recycled bottles as eco-friendly bedding, but you're still sleeping under plastic. Our synthetic down is a premium fill specifically designed for softness, loft, and durability - not a marketing story about recycling. Plenty of people mention not wanting to "sleep under plastic." We agree. That's not what bedding should be.

Is it hypoallergenic?

The fill is 100% hypoallergenic synthetic down. The organic cotton shell is also naturally gentle on sensitive skin since it's grown without harsh chemicals or pesticides. If you have allergies, even with this hypoallergenic fill, its recommended to use a duvet cover you can launder in hot water regularly.

I have a queen bed. Will the king size work?

Actually, yes. The king size (90" x 104") works beautifully in a queen duvet cover and gives you extra loft and that overstuffed, luxury hotel look. It's how our co-founder Lauren uses hers. If you want maximum fluffiness, go king even on a queen bed. It's the fluffy bed hotel secret.

Can I use this without a duvet cover?

Absolutely. It's designed to work beautifully on its own as a comforter or inside a duvet cover as an insert. If you want to lessen your laundry frequency or add some color to your bed, slip on a duvet cover.

Is this worth $299? I've seen cheaper options.

A: Here's the math: a $299 comforter that lasts 10+ years costs $0.08 per night. A $99 comforter you replace every 2 years costs more over time - and it's probably filled with chemicals. We price fairly: GOTS-certified organic cotton, premium fill, ethical manufacturing, 100-night trial. Our competitors (Boll & Branch, Coyuchi) charge $300-500 for similar quality. We cut out middlemen and sell direct so you get luxury materials without luxury markup.

How do I wash it without ruining it?

A: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Use your washer's largest setting so it has room to move. Skip bleach and fabric softener. May need two dryer cycles to fully dry, or one cycle plus air drying. No commercial washer needed - your home machine works fine. The best part? It gets softer and fluffier with every wash. Unlike cheap comforters that fall apart, ours improves over time.

Where is it made? Is it from China?

A: India, not China. Made in a GOTS-certified facility with fair trade practices. India has some of the world's best organic cotton farming and textile manufacturing - it's where the expertise is. The organic cotton is grown without pesticides and processed without harmful chemicals at every step. We're transparent about our entire supply chain because we believe you deserve to know exactly where your bedding comes from and how it's made.

Should I use a duvet cover?

A: Your choice. It works beautifully either way - as a standalone comforter or inside a duvet cover. A cover can extend the life and let you change your bedroom look without buying a new comforter. But the organic cotton shell is soft and luxurious enough to use on its own. Many customers use it without a cover because the fabric feels so good.

Try it risk-free for 100 nights.

If it's not everything we promised, return it for a refund. No hassle, no fine print.
